In 2018, Argentina hosted the World Economic Forum for the first time in Latin America.

In its 2016 Quality of Living index, Mercer included Buenos Aires, as one of the best cities in the world to live in, only topped by Montevideo (Uruguay) in the LATAM region. The city is a major commercial, financial and political center for Latin America and an important business meeting point, ranked as the number 1 meetings destination in the Americas.
